Clank is a South African online service that builds and looks after websites, business email and .co.za domains: monthly plans for smaller businesses, Custom quotes for bigger jobs, and SEO, ads and Google Business Profile add-ons to help you grow. You don’t have to manage the tech. No tech waffle, no agency nonsense.

Clank works with South African businesses from small to large: one-person plumbers and hairdressers, mechanics and consultants, up to factories and firms with a team. The three priced plans are made for smaller businesses and simpler sites. Bigger sites, online shops, bookings and logins go Custom and get an exact quote.

Clank has three plans. Launch is R699 once-off setup plus R249 a month. Business is R1,299 setup plus R379 a month. Business Plus is R1,899 setup plus R449 a month. Every plan runs for 12 months, then carries on month-to-month. Bigger or more complex jobs go Custom, which is quoted after a short review. Clank isn’t VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

Your first payment is the setup fee plus your first month: R948 on Launch, R1,678 on Business and R2,348 on Business Plus. After that, it’s just the monthly fee.

Mainly size. Launch gives you up to 1 page, 1 business mailbox and 1 build revision round. Business gives you up to 5 pages, 3 mailboxes and 2 revision rounds. Business Plus gives you up to 8 pages, 5 mailboxes and 2 revision rounds. Every plan includes a monthly website health check. Business and Business Plus also include one grouped content update per quarter. Launch has no included content changes after launch. Need more than Business Plus? That’s Custom.

Compare plans

You can. A DIY builder gives you the tools, and you do the building, the writing, the email setup and the domain renewals yourself. Clank does that work for you, for one monthly price, and looks after it afterwards. If you enjoy building websites, a builder is great. If you’d rather be doing your actual job, that’s what Clank is for.

Clank isn’t VAT registered, so no VAT is added. The plan prices on the site are what you pay, and Custom quotes have no VAT added either.

Not on the website. Fill in the form on the Get started page (it opens your email app, ready to send). Clank confirms your plan, domain and exact price with you first, then explains how payment works. Nothing is charged until you say yes.

Yes. Every Clank plan includes a standard new ordinary .co.za domain. While your plan is active, Clank manages it and pays the ordinary .co.za renewal for you.

You do. The domain is registered in your name and belongs to your business. Clank manages it and pays the ordinary .co.za renewal while your plan is active.

How domains work

Yes. Tell Clank about it when you get in touch. We do a short review of who it’s registered to, when it renews and whether there’s email on it, and whether you want an existing website or email moved across, then give you an exact quote. Bringing your own domain doesn’t come with an automatic discount or an automatic surcharge. Please don’t send passwords through the form or email.

Plans include a standard new ordinary .co.za. For other or premium endings, which can cost more to register and renew, Clank does a short review and gives you an exact quote before you agree. Not sure which to pick? Ask, and we’ll help you choose.

Launch includes 1 basic business mailbox, Business includes 3 and Business Plus includes 5, all on your own domain (like you@yourbusiness.co.za). Clank confirms mailbox details, such as storage, with your quote. Need 6 or more? That’s Custom.

How email works

A revision round is your chance, while Clank builds your site, to review it and send all your changes in one go. Clank then makes them. Launch includes 1 round. Business and Business Plus include 2.

The full process

On Business and Business Plus, Clank does one grouped content update per quarter. Collect your changes, send them in one batch, and we make them. Launch has no included content changes after launch, so Clank quotes for any changes you need first.

Custom is for jobs bigger than the three plans: more than 8 pages, an online shop with products, a cart and payments, bookings, forms, logins or a client portal, 6 or more business mailboxes, or moving your existing website or email across. Got an idea, or a thingymajig you want added? Tell us about it. If we can build it, we’ll quote it. If we can’t, we’ll say so.

Custom has no set price, because every big job is different. Clank does a short review of what you need, then gives you an exact quote for the build and the monthly care. The term, your domain, health checks and revision rounds are agreed in that quote too. Nothing starts and nothing’s charged until you say yes. No VAT is added.

Yes, as a Custom job. Online shops with products, a cart and payments are quoted after a short review of what you sell and how you want to take payment. You get an exact quote before anything starts.

Yes. Bookings, forms, logins and client portals are Custom work. Tell us what you need it to do, and Clank sends an exact quote after a short review.

Yes. Moving an existing website or business email across to Clank is quoted, either as part of a Custom job or as an extra on a plan. Clank does a short review of what you have now, then sends an exact quote. Please don’t send passwords through the form or email.

No one can honestly guarantee rankings, and Clank doesn’t. What Clank does is build your site so Google can read it properly and people can find what you do.

Every Clank plan includes a monthly health check on your website, so problems get spotted instead of sitting there quietly.

About the care

Every Clank plan has a 12-month term. After that, it carries on month-to-month.

On top of the website plans, Clank offers SEO, AEO and GEO (getting found on Google and in AI answers), Google Ads, Google Business Profile setup and Facebook and Instagram ads, with a plan, a Custom build or a website you already have. Add-ons are quoted for your business before anything starts.

SEO (search engine optimisation) helps your business show up on Google. AEO (answer engine optimisation) and GEO (generative engine optimisation) help AI assistants like ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers understand your business and mention it. Clank handles the structure, wording and technical bits for all three.

Clank quotes a fee for setting up and running your ads. Your ad budget, the money that pays Google or Meta for the ads themselves, is separate and you decide how much it is.

Yes. Clank’s add-ons (SEO, AEO and GEO, Google Ads, Google Business Profile and Facebook and Instagram ads) work with any website, including one Clank didn’t build. Each one is quoted for your business first.

Yes. Clank can set up or tidy up your Google Business Profile, the listing that shows on Google Maps and in local search, so people can find you, call you and see your hours.

Pick a plan, Custom or “help me choose” on the Get started page. The form opens your email app with everything filled in, and you hit send. Clank replies to confirm your plan, domain and price with you before anything goes ahead.
