Website & email migration
Moving the website is easy. Moving it carefully takes a checklist.
Clank can move an existing website or business email as a quoted extra or Custom job. We inspect ownership, access, DNS, mailboxes and the current setup before promising a method or price.
Before anything moves
Five facts we need.
Domain ownership.
Who the registrant is, where the domain is managed and when it renews.
Website platform.
Where it is hosted, how it is built and whether important forms or integrations exist.
Email setup.
Mailbox count, provider, aliases, forwarding and devices in use.
Data and history.
What must be copied, retained or archived, including old mail where applicable.
Timing and dependencies.
Who controls access and whether another provider must release anything.
What the quote should state
Scope, sequence and responsibility.
A useful migration quote says what is moving, what is not, which access is required, who supplies it, the proposed sequence, likely disruption, validation steps and rollback limits.
No honest provider can guarantee zero downtime or zero data loss before inspecting the current environment. Clank confirms the risks and approach after discovery.
Never send passwords through the public form or ordinary email.
After the move
Test the things people actually use.
- Website pages, images, forms and redirects.
- Incoming and outgoing email for every required mailbox.
- Domain ownership and renewal contacts.
- Search redirects, canonical URLs and sitemap.
- A recoverable copy of the previous setup where possible.
